Life can change in an instant and one sudden turn could lead you to a new beginning. Meet Maria, who found her furr babies Tia and Thanos.
My name is Maria and I knew there were already a lot of homeless cats in Dubai that needed a home so I never considered purchasing. Also, the idea of purchasing a from breeders didn’t sit well with me. Pets are not accessories.
I follow Retold on Instagram and they posted a story about having rescued a stray cat near their store that turned out to be pregnant. She gave birth to 4 kittens, two were already adopted and I wanted to adopt one. But when I went there to pickup the kitten, I couldn’t bear to leave the other one behind and adopted them both instead.
They were both excited and friendly as they were barely 1 month old. They needed to be picked up right away and so I had to feed them kitten formula from bottles.
I adopted them in the middle of the pandemic. They helped with my anxiety and having little monsters to take care of took my mind off negative things.
The structure of my days and weeks had to be adjusted to include their meal times, when their litterbox needs to be cleaned and/or changed, whether they had somebody with them at home, etc. I’ve learned to be more patient.
