Join Stray Dogs Center Weekly Dog Walks and Socialization Adventures
Stray Dogs Center in UAQ is a local licensed, non-profit, no-kill shelter that is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating abused, abandoned, neglected, and forgotten stray animals in the United Arab Emirates. Established in 2013, this private animal shelter relies on the generous support of the public to continue its vital work. Currently, the shelter provides a safe haven for 780 dogs, 15 cats, and even 4 lovable wonky donkeys!
Activities for Stray Dogs
In addition to their ongoing efforts to find forever homes for stray dogs through adoption events in Dubai, the Stray Dogs Center also organizes a variety of fun and engaging activities to raise funds for the shelter’s operational expenses. These activities focus on adoption promotion, socialization, grooming, and providing much-needed exercise for the shelter dogs.
Weekly Dog Walks
One of the exciting initiatives currently being undertaken by the Stray Dogs Center is their weekly dog walks. These walks take place against the serene backdrop of the desert, providing a calm and idyllic setting away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
It’s a wonderful opportunity for dog lovers to spend quality time with these furry companions. The weekly dog walks are scheduled as follows:
- Weekly Dog Walks:
- For ages 14+: Every Saturday and Sunday from 6pm to 7pm.
- For ages 13 and under: Every Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 9am.
Weekly Dog Socialization
In addition to the dog walks, the Stray Dogs Center hosts weekly socialization sessions aimed at helping new shelter entrants overcome their fears, integrate with other dogs, adapt to human contact, and learn to walk on a leash.
These sessions provide a nurturing environment for the dogs to build confidence and develop important social skills. The weekly socialization activities are held as follows:

- For ages 18+: Every Saturday from 8am to 10am.
For those who enjoy a hands-on experience, the shelter also offers grooming sessions where volunteers can assist with bathing, brushing, checking for pests, and providing plenty of love and pampering to the dogs in need. The grooming sessions take place as follows:

- For ages 14+: Every Sunday from 8am to 10am.
